Gran Turismo developer Polyphony Digital has reportedly attracted some extra helping hands in the shape of the former audio lead for Microsoft's Forza franchise.

That's according to the LinkedIn profile for Mike Caviezel, which states he joined the Sony game maker in April 2015 as senior audio lead.

Caviezel is no stranger to racing games, having worked on Forza and its various sequels while at Turn 10 Studios. Specifically, the profile states he “provided audio for the Forza Motorsport franchise games, including Forza Motorsport 1,2,3 and 4."

He is also credited as audio production director at Microsoft Studios.

Polyphony Digital is currently working on the next chapter in the multi-million selling Gran Turismo franchise for PS4, following the success of GT5 Prologue, GT5 and GT6 on PS3 during the previous hardware cycle.

GT7 has yet to attract a release date, though Polyphony has said that the move to PS4 will make an 'incredible difference' to the series.
