I was in the sixth grade when they went to the finals. Dude was my favorite player ever. ALL the dudes at my school got braids or at least attempted to grow their shyt out cause AI. I even talked my mama into legally changing my middle name to Allen back then lol.
I'm willing to bet that I have some old games of Iverson at Georgetown in my closet right now.
I used to love watching the Hoyas play on Saturdays. This guy was really amazing to watch, and there was never any doubt that he would be the #1 pick coming out of college. I honestly don't recall anyone questioning it. Even though he was only 6' 160" the selection that year was unanimous.
Anybody who watched them on a consistent basis could always count for a steal at around half or 3/4 court and a dunk. It was like clockwork. I tried to predict when it would happen in each game.
This guy birthed this generation of pg's. Notice how many pg's wear that number?
