It's one thing to have songs that were recorded previously but we'd already heard a lot of The Lost Tapes during the time that I Am was being bootlegged so it's not like these were completely unheard songs. This was just the label taking songs that had never been officially released (although a lot of them were out there and had been heard) and "officially" releasing them along with some newer songs

It is still more of an album than it is a compilation. It is more of an album than most of his albums. I mean, songs off of Nastradamus were a part of the I Am bootleg as well.

I’m going to count Futures mixtape run after breaking up with Ciara. Not saying that this was the greatest, but dude was absolutely in the zone, and was putting out hit after hit. DS2 was the culmination of the run, and I personally thinks that’s a modern day Trap Classic

Kanye also comes to mind with MBDTF and Yeezus. A great 2 album run after people at the time of 808s & Heartbreak believed that Ye lost a step after the passing of his mother and his sudden change in music sonically (little did people know that 808s would be the wave of the future). MBDTF is a classic, and Yeezus is a solid experimental album

this is 2pac hands down.

But thats why this is unfair without some sort of requirement of activity.
