Heat scored to get it within two, 95 percent of coaches would have called a timeout and drawn up a play, pop just stood back nonchalantly. 9 seconds on th clock parker dribbling out of control no timeout.

That's the way it should be trust in your players not micro managing every play

I'm sure Pop micro-managed it all during practice by having the team run a million drills/plays for whatever scenario they would have encountered - different defensive looks, time left on the clock, score etc. He trusted his players because he knew they well prepared for that particular scenario. Not cause he believed they could wing it like Iverson.

Practice makes perfect.:aicmon:

No To Discredit Pop But 95% Of Teams Probably NEED That Timeout To Collect Themselves, The Spurs Dont

He and Phil are pretty much the only ones that do this. @CantStop used to get so mad at Phil when he'd let the team just play. :laff:

If the Spurs win it's all because of Pop.

Spo doesn't know how to make in game adjustments. It's a wonder how he even won a championship to begin with....oh yeah Scott Brooks ain't shyt either.

D'Antoni stayed doing that shyt when he was in NY only to watch the other team go on a 20-0 run.

If you're gonna sit back & not regroup w/ a TO. You better prepare your team to play through situations like that

After this ring he wins, Timmy and Ginobli need to retire. Then Gregg Pop can come and coach the Thunder to a ring :noah:

That works only when you have players you can trust and should trust.

"Props to Pop"

^ New slogan.
