pretty sure it's a lie that they can recover deleted files since TRIM on storage ensures that can't happen. if they "recover" anything i think it's from all the default backup services millions of people are using but are unaware of. applie icloud and google sync etc.

Hard to imagine that manufacturer doesn’t have a way to get in. As a legal matter, a defendant doesn’t have obligation to say “yes, please open it for the FBI,” but, as a political matter, where’s the press inquiry: “Will you ask that your phone be unlocked, Mr. Mayor?” (Obstruction of justice for shielding evidence on phone after feds sought the data on it through subpoena is a separate matter.)

If the story is from the @nypost it's most likely a lie. Hilarious you think people believe this. It's so funny, because they would just get a subpoena from a judge to have the company who makes the phone open it it they couldn't. Post is owned by same guy who owns FOX.

Adams admitted to the FBI that he changed the password on this phone —stored at his home — AFTER the feds seized two other phones when they confronted him on the street.

Interesting nugget from the Eric Adams hearing: The feds are claiming that have NOT cracked the mayor's cellphone seized last November.

This is the phone that Adams allegedly changed the password to and then claimed he "forgot" it.

He wanted to make sure that his staffers didn’t delete data off of his cellphone.

Feds then asked for password.

He says he’s “forgotten” it.

It’s nearly a year later.

SDNY prosecutors still have not accessed the phone.
