I look at how the Yankees handle Dominguez and then I see a team like Astros and how they handle Cam Smith, who also had to change positions.

Struggled early and the Astros would sit him to clear his head, not because they felt a need to get their fourth outfielder going, but once he got going, they stopped messing with him and decided to give him all the reps he needed and now he's really good. Why? Because the Astros believe in guys actually having momentum and not these "scheduled" days off.
Three of the 4 highest WAR's on the team are in the outfield

Three of the 4 highest OPS's on the team are in the outfield

None of them feature the name "Jasson Dominguez". And Cam is the superior outfielder defensively

You may not wanna hear this, but he IS the 4th outfielder

then why is he on the fukking team? What are they afraid of either way? They're not winning a world series this year. If there was ever a year to lean on "aww shucks, damn injury bug, shyt happens, dare I say it, crap shoot" it's a year where you lose by far your most clutch bat and your 2 best pitchers other than Fried. This shoulda been treated like the gap year it deserved to be.

It's organizational malpractice no matter how slice it. The only prospect they've liked since Judge has been Volpe. Any other remotely successful story has gotten on by accident. If they have no interest in dealing with the growing pains of prospects, wash your hands of em all. They won't win a World Series ever again if that's how they feel.

and I really have no interest in the WAR category when Volpe actually ranked really high in the first 2 years in that category.

If they won’t outbid everyone for every star like it’s 2008-09 then they have to play the young guys over declining vets or rentals. They wasted 2020-23 specifically by playing old vets who sucked over the young guys while not spending. Think about how fukked they’ll be trying this if they continue once judge declines.

When the Yankees won the World Series in 1996, they broke a drought of 18 years.

The Yankees last won in 2009.
If they fail to win it in 2025 we will be going on 16 years.

It’s incredible to think a GM can remain in power that long without succeeding.

The Dodgers have been in 4 World Series in that time, won 2 of them. And even they had 3 different guys lead the front office.

Like I said, you have an agenda. That's fine. No need to bullshyt around it.

You've viewed every outfielder as a threat to Dominguez and that other guy

And if the only reason you're gonna give for wanting to play him over the more productive players is "But Volpe", I'm not trying to hear all that

why would I need an agenda when there's only 1 OF spot locked down?

Has it ever occurred to you that having both of them in the OF wouldn't bother me?

Pretty sure the cowboys are the only other team in pro sports to not replace their GM at least once since then. Complete organizational malpractice.
