Growing Out Your Hair 101 - breh needs help

Will get to the point. Been rocking a plain ass fade like the pic below (sometimes longer, sometimes shorter) for the past 20+ years. Have never even thought once about getting creative with my head. I know a lot of it depends on genetics, hair thickness, etc. Was just curious if any other brehs went from one style to another. I don't know the first thing about styling hair cause I never worried about it

Edit: if you Google blak man hairstyles it's 90% OBJ. Cool but slightly played out IMO

Im growing mine out so i can get locs. Im in that ugly point when its too long to brush and too short to comb. Ive been rocking a cesar for a while now. I had locs before but it was a while ago. Between the ugly stage of the locs and growing it out ima be ugly for a while

Curls are heavy when they get longer so keep it straight as possible. drink water eat right (believe it or not your diet effects your hair) but three first three are the most important how i know? because i watched my wife go from a short nia long bob to hair down to her back in 2 and a half years and she got pure Nigerian up there its possible

Braids or twists! I braided my cousins hair constantly and his grew pretty fast, he was wanting to get dress but his hair never grew long enough. Also do you properly bmoisturizer your hair?

Thanks for the info. I havent moisterized or greased my hair properly in like a year. Also its not long enough for braids. My cousin said she can use weave and by the time she take them out my hair would be longer.

Being a man means being accountable.

There's no excuse for neglecting your hair. Coconut oil or black castor in the morning and night with some water. Brush or comb based on length. Wave cap or du rag before bed. Repeat.

Being a man also means not letting others define what it is to be a man.

My hair is grown about 2 inches. Downside is, it's not growing no more and it's been falling out. Like I can pull it out. I admit I been neglecting it, where do I go from here to grow it some more?

And start over a again. Make sure you condition your hair after you wash it. Number 1 cause of breakage.

Get yourself a Satin or Silk durag for sleep. Lubricate your hair daily. Also if you can get it braided or twisted here and there for protection and faster growth

I always condition my hair after washing. And I don't use sulfates
