:russ:, we need to have some tsc smiieys by the way. This dude hugs his home boys afterwards like, we made it :mjcry::to::salute:

Edit: This is the greatest story ever

I was reading a shoot interview from a smackdown wrestler a couple of years ago. I can't find the link anymore so I want to say MVP or maybe Chavo. I think it was one of them. They were talking about being in Chile and the fans at the airport just being totally crazy and making the wrestlers nervous when they walked from the gate to the bus.

When Taker walked through with his luggage some fan went nuts and created a huge security disturbance by jumping over the gate, grabbing Taker and almost pulling him to the ground. The wrestlers behind him and from the bus windows were all watching horrified. When Taker got on the bus they expected him to be fuming and furious and when they ask him what he thought about that guy Taker totally no-sold the incident and responded "what guy?"

I do NOT know that guy :whoa:

If Triple H was there it was the 2009 house show, that wasn't even half as crazy as the first two shows they ever did here one year before. People, myself included, lost their shyt when they finally came to Santiago. We were the first ones ever to get Edge vs Taker and they delivered in spades :obama:

We are actually a nice country for wrestling. I've seen MVP, Calirto and Matt Hardy - pre BROKEN days - chill near were I live for the shows Hugo Savinovich has been promoting a couple of times. They get a decent attendance (over 4-5k) :ehh: and Generico came once to fight XL (Armando Saez from the CWC). Fans here are suckers for anything WWE though, any nostalgia act can get a good payday...shyt, Rikishi came here for a couple of dates like 5 years ago, won the main belt from the biggest promotion in the country and never returned for the job, dudes got played like amateurs :russ:

Is wrestling that rare near you @Jmare007 ?

At this point not really, check my post, nowadays we get regular indy guys for the different small promotions we have.

But the time of the video on the OP (2009), the local wrestling promotions were really small and almost no one knew about them so wrestling practically didn't even exist for most people. The only thing that was on the collective mind was WWE and the Attitude Era, which was fukking HUGE here from 99' to 02' (we got it with 6 month delay but the internet was such a rarity yet that no one was really spoiled up until the last year), once it ended they stopped showing it on TV and wrestling stopped being a "thing". By 2005 it returned and a lot of fans were older and started getting into the IWC and shyt, plus a whole new generation of young people started getting into it. When it was announced that WWE was finally coming here in 2008 it was a pretty big deal, like an important band finally getting to play in our country. You add that to us being really emotional as fans (like most south americans) and you get people crying after even touching the Undertaker, that's someone most people never thought they'll see live and that was seen as a legit icon - he's the most popular guy after Austin - hugging him was probably a "oh shyt, this is real" moment for breh.
