This can't be right :mjlol:

Trade your future HOF player for a parking lot brehs :mjlol:

I think this is exactly what happened.:mjcry:
I don't know if I can rock out with this team anymore.

I would assume Davis could probably get a loan to cover for the next two years, but maybe not :mjcry:

Moving the team has to be one of the dumbest business decisions in sports history. :snoop:

The Raiders are located in a region experiencing the highest rate of economic growth in the country...and their current stadium is perfectly situated within the commuting zone. Only a 20 minute drive from the San Francisco Financial District :snoop:

They're moving to a city whose primary attraction is legal gambling..right when sports gambling is legalized nationwide and is set for some explosive growth over the next couple of years :snoop:

The 49ers moving all the way down to Santa Clara was a perfect opportunity for the Raiders to poach a whole lot of higher-income football fans. Especially the younger folks with money to burn that live in San Francisco proper - they aren't trying to spend an hour and a half driving to fukking Santa Clara, or up to 2 hours and multiple bus / train transfers if they're taking public transportation.

A half-decent remodel of the existing stadium, or constructing a brand-new one in the same location would have let the Raiders really capitalize on selling luxury boxes to young millionaires, VC firms, etc. while being able to preserve what makes the Raiders such a unique franchise (hardcore working / middle-class fanbase). I can't believe that they wouldn't be able to pre-sell at least half a billion in luxury box / premium seat season ticket PSLs to help put together a stadium financing package...and there was plenty of room to maneuver with local authorities as far as municipal financing so long as the Davis' were negotiating in good faith.

All-time fukkup...shyt is baffling.
Move your franchise from one of the wealthiest and most desirable places to live on Earth to the middle of the fukking desert, brehs :hhh:
All Mark had to do was sell a piece of the team to a Larry Ellison, Zuckerberg(fellow jew), Apple guy, Ebay, etc. But they still try to keep it family owned. His pops Al started this and it would be a radical change for the organization rubbing shoulders with Silicon Valley which would eventually price out a big percentage of the Eastbay/blue collar fanbase which is one of the most loyal fanbases around. But if it kept them in Oakland then I guess you would have to take the greater good of them staying even though prices would go up and they would be also catering to a richer crowd.

My thing, and I still say this to this very day, is that Al Davis should've never left LA tbh. The Rams left and he had LA all to himself. He was eventually going to get a stadium but he had no patience whatsoever. He moved back to Oakland and had the same stadium problem that he had when he bolted to LA

Facts, this fukk up was seeded from Al’s fukk up of leaving LA when he had the whole market to himself. Sometimes I wonder what could’ve been had Dr. Buss won the Raiders off of Al in a poker game. He would’ve had them actually committed to excellence.

But yeah, leaving LA was a fateful decision. He returned to Oakland for the same issues he left town in the first place. That’s why the Raiders problems aren’t really low level it’s an ownership issue. Al got a pass because he was an NFL legend and a founding father of the modern league as well as the man that made the Raiders what it was. mark has neither the clout, nor vision, nor intelligence to do even 10% of what Al did.

Very sad state of affairs, but that’s business. Only absolute monumental failure will fix the problem, wish the fans could get together and boycott but so many are still brainwashed with this idea that blind loyalty and enabling behavior towards this team is gonna help. One day breh, one day this team will be restored to its old glory. Til then, Lakers gon hold me down. :tu:

I think there was a way for them to maintain the existing East Bay / blue collar fanbase while improving overall financial performance. Mostly by enlarging any planned new stadium (greater supply of seats) and being aggressive with pricing for new luxury boxes while preserving lower-cost season tickets for longtime fans. Ultimately, the new wealthy fans want the full Raiders experience as well...they just don't necessarily want to be in the thick of things. Keep em in boxes and club level seats and let em enjoy the spectacle from a safe distance :lolbron:

Larry Ellison would've been a perfect guy to sell a piece to. He's been looking to get in on a whole bunch of pro sports teams that've come up for sale in the past couple of years...even the Kings :russ:

There's ways they could have structured the deal to ensure the Davis family retained voting control while decreasing their economic stake...not that challenging, but it would require that whatever plans they had for a new Oakland stadium were rock-solid.

The main characteristic of this current regime is rushed moves without any type of due diligence as it pertains to other options. Dude is so thirsty for the bag that he’s gettin played by anyone with even a pint of finesse in their system. All my bridge sellers better go get this free money from mark before the Vegas mobsters take it all.

All that Bay Area wealth, all those LA tyc00ns that would’ve helped mark get back to the city, and he managed to fail on all fronts. It makes sense why Jerruh been sonned him he got no ounce of his father’s juice to ever be a made man.
