the rest of the rap world was focusing on the hiphop battles taking place on the Eastcoast (Nas vs Jay/Mobb Deep/Jadakiss vs Beans, LL vs Canibus etc)
Not to mention the white boy and Dre had taken over at that point
Once TI dropped his verse on Never Scared and then dropped his LP there was no turning back
