Sans It Was Written, Reasonable Doubt and MAYBE the Belly Soundtrack this album shytting on all those overhyped and overrated ass Ny albums that get pushed down our throats as the creme de la creme of the genre. (ie. Ready to Die, 36 Chambers, Illmatic and SOO many more)

NOPE, not on my watch.

Just cause a bunch of cac publications and dusty Jean short, encye shirt wearing, 7 3/4 Yankees hat sporting New Yorkers overrates those albums doesn't make it true. :manny:

The jig is up on that propaganda.

BGizzle murked it for the culture :wow:
I know it's cool to laugh at em now but y'all better put some respect on Wayne name:ufdup:
Baby and Manny shyt talking :wow:
Even Turk the two timer gave u a classic cut :whew:

This album is damn near flawless from beginning to end, and is amongst the very long list of underrated albums from that decade from other regions that are better than most NY albums we're supposed to revere.

Is what it is:yeshrug:

nikka, watch me grow up
When I was small he had plan
My daddy was ballin', and he was the right-hand man
My poppa bought us a house to keep our family secure
Livin' good on a ranch in the middle of the woods
I understood at a young age my poppa would spray
Seen him slit a nikka throat and shoot one up in the face
He beat murder case after case: he was untouchable
But he had a right-hand man that wasn't trustable
Who undercover slow he made deals under the table
Workin' for the Feds 'round my people wearin' a cable
My daddy got busted, so he got left with the dope
All our shyt got repossessed, and our family was flat broke
Moved back inside the projects in summer of '84
Developed my hustlin' skills from Yomey and Black Zo
When I got to the point that I wasn't small no more
Hooked up the same nikka that handled my daddy dough
I know that he sheisty; but this nikka just don't know
Swear to God I ain't 'bout it; but this nikka just don't know
I got a few under my belt and I'mma make it one more
Cock the 4-4 and knock his brains out on the floor
Respect my mind

Juvie was not playing on this shyt :whew:

keep forcing it :mjlol:
honestly don't see wat I'm forcing. 90s NY hip hop is severely overrated, there are several less notable albums from that decade from different regions that are better than the 'best the genre has to offer' pretty simple concept if you ask....albeit, subjective as it is, but then again, this is music....its all subjective.

Great great album but from a subject matter point of view Gangstarr's "Moment Of Truth">>>>

I used to really enjoy Guerrilla Warfare (still one of the best albums I've ever heard) but I can't enjoy it like I used to because of its subject matter.

I listen to Moment Of Truth regularly today because its overall subject matter has aged gracefully in my opinion.
