I remember paying $1200 for my first 40" flatscreen tv in 2008, and I thought I was getting a bargain at the time :blessed:

EDIT: I found a struggle picture from back in the day for reference.

:damn: the crib was dusty :whew:

This setup is so nostalgic :wow:. Only thing missing is a shelf full of cd/dvd's and VHS'.

that was a bad deal back then.
That was right at the transition of bowl CRT tvs to flat face CRTs.

How I know that is BS though Is floor models were the sign of an elite tv back then.

You would either have a heavy ass floor model CRT that costs thousands or a top of the line rear projection tv that was also a floor model.

I see so many flat screens laying on the side of the street. It fukks me up because I remember when they first dropped and how expensive they were. Driving around and seeing 60" flat screens laying outside like nothing is crazy. But the only reason I feel that way is because I remember what was.... :ohlawd:
When I go to a Walmart or Target and see 60" 4k smart tv's going for $300 my jaw drops every time. No matter how ubiquitous flat screens become I will always see them as luxury items.
Breh i remember when you had to move those big tvs in at night in the hood because you didn't want none of your neighbors knowing you had one :russ:

:wow: Little does he know that if he spent that $5k on Apple stock in 1999, he would have $1 mil+ now
I mean yah. He probably thought he was balling when he put $5k into AOL too . :russ:

Its hard to tell who the tech winners are. I still remember when yahoo was the world's leading search engine and nokia(s) shytted on samsung :wow:

Exactly. Putting big money on Apple was ballsy as hell in 1999 when Microsoft was kicking thier ass.

Those TVs lasted forever. If you had some pliers and aluminum foil you could add another three years to those
:heh:
I still have my pop's sanyo TV from 1985. Actually we still using it up untill like 2011. It probably still works but it's collecting dust now.

And no way in hell she could afford 5k on a TV. We were broke AF. Im thinking he got scammed
