Probably the most underrated song in the Wu catalog. I get on here and see threads dikkriding rappers that couldn't even dream about doing what GZA did on this track. Seriously. Name your favorite overrated rapper...ya'll know who they are :mjpls:...and post a song they crafted as brilliant as Animal Planet. The concept...Jungle/Street analogy and the lyricism is impeccable. And that Bink beat :ohlawd: It's surreal how it transports you straight to Monster Island. Beautiful.

No fancy wordplay and gimmicks, that rippity rap shyt that easily get some of ya'll cocks hard. Gary Grice shows ya'll cats how to rhyme on here. The God ran a MC concept clinic and this went way under the radar. This is why Wu is the greatest rap group ever...most cats consider GZA the 4th or 5th best MC on the Clan yet he still better than your favorite rapper...by ALOT :mindblown:

Man, listen....If you REALLY wanna bug out since Kendrick made dissing hot, play Gza 'Paper Plate'. He absolutely EVISCERATES 50. Like, It's , arguably the best writing in a diss ever. for real.

"that Yayo you sellin', please abort it, too many cuts on it cokeheads they wont snort it"

"don't ever try to play the hottest one in your camp (game), he might step off and take half the juice from your amp"

"you just another pig in a blanket, hoghead the deadliest food at the banquet"

The Genius is truly not to be fukked with. At all. when I go on Gza kicks every few years i stay pickin' up new techniques.

I was listening to some concept songs today and I had to make a thread on this track because it's right up there with some of the best. Dudes can't rhyme like this. All that complex shyt that gets praise is child's play compared to this shyt.

you can even go all the way back to his first first record, pre Wu Tang, and see crazy imagery & wordplay. shyt, a lot of the shyt Dirty was kicking on his record are ON THAT ALBUM.

play 'stay out of bars'. play 'what are silly girls made of'. play 'life of a drug dealer'. Genius represents a type of MC that's been squelched out by the hype era rappers.

This is a perfect song to make a fan made video too.

Yoooooooo, I was thinking the same thing earlier! Somebody needs to get on that. And get on a video for Ghostface: the Forest too, while you're at it :birdman:

On some pure lyrical shyt, GZA is one of the best...nikka goes over mad heads. Sometimes he doesn't even TRY and he murks most rappers out today, and this is common knowledge with heads that truly can get down with the art like that.

Hip-hop today has been on some lowered expectations shyt...I'm not hating on all of these rappers out now, but many get away with "lyricism" when they aren't even sniffing the mere stench of the funk that GZA lays down, real talk.

If you judge by just the art of writing alone, GZA is probably the top 2 or 3 MCs ever born. He treats writing VERY seriously. I mean like he approaches rap lyrics like a great novelist approaches completing his literature. Dude literally never puts out half ass verses. It bugs me out when cats post shyt like that Lupe Kendrick response and praise it to the high heavens, but it's garbage lyrically compared to shyt like Animal Planet.
