I felt like I did horrible on the phone interview portion(stuttering between answers etc) and yet still the interviewer asked me if I could come in today for a second interview :dwillhuh: . On the bright side I did 100 times better in person on the second interview but I wonder if thats enough. Anybody have a experience where you did well on one interview and messed up on the other? They said they would get back to me a couple of days for a 3rd interview if they decide I fit with the company.

s/n what made it even weirder was the guy i messed up on the phone interview with was giving me tips on how do well in the 2nd.

On the real breh interviewing takes practice and talking to complete strangers sucks at first. I do hiring and the first thing i tell people is its okay to be nervous at first but how do you finish. If you get this or not just take it as a learning experience breh but not knocking your job but its Target you should be ok :manny:

What kind of negatives and positives do interviewers look for?

I've had 2 interviews in the past 2 months. No job. :mjcry:

CONFIDENCE period especially if its customer service or sales. Personality is key but coming off as a person who can be coached/trained aka saying I'm excited to learn everything about the job/company/position sounds good. Most hiring managers want to feel empowered honestly so being a know it all or coming off TO cocky can hurt you. Just smile think about the question then answer

Worked at target in the suburbs for 2 1/2 years. The women who worked there and the ones who shopped there.:banderas:

Just be funny and sociable, and the interviewer will literally do the rest. Possibly even by accident. As long as you got through the first, you are in there. I just got a job where I ACED the interview knowing little about the company (had to use grandiose terms and general shyt to worm my way out) and looked like a complete idiot on the on-boarding process. Even they know you don't have to know everything about the company you want to work for, but you should take an interest in the company culture and at least be likable. It is easier from there. Good luck, though, retail during the shopping season will test the fukk out of you on the daily.

My first interview at target was back in 2005. Had to be there at like 6 am or some shyt. Walked about a mile in hot humid ga weather. Got there, chicks gave me no time to settle before asking questions. I was still sweating and it got worse once i sat down :whew::whew::whew:. All i remember is one fukking question "why do you want work here?" I said (pretty much verbatim) "because i need money to pay my bills" :ahh:That was like only my third interview at the time. I was like 19 or 20. They sent me a letter in the mail saying i didnt get the job. Held on to that thing for years..(think i still have it) to serve as motivation.I had 2 other interviews there which i freaking aced but still didnt get hired. I REALLY wanted to work at the one in Atlantic Station but they never called back:mindblown:

Yo I ate like crazy when I worked at Target when i was 17-19. Piped 5 chicks that worked there. It was a goldmine for getting at hoe ass customers too. :banderas:

First time I felt like my life was in danger too. Got threatened by one of the chicks ex boyfriends. he was like, "yo, watch your back tonight, me and my knights are gonna be waiting for you in the parking lot" I was shook cuz the dude had neck and a face tattoo. :to:

he threatened me in front of a white lady and she was like :merchant: and told the security guard up front. the nikka didn't end up doing anything but for my safety they had my work in the stockroom way in the back for a month. :mjlol:

tl;dr Target ain't a bad gig :manny:

I actually read up about how the 3rd interview is just a formality and have seen other stories about people saying they got hired a few days after their second. So im not really worried about them telling me about being hired right then. They did have at least 2 other interviews today and what the guy told me on the phone was depending on how well i interviewed was the difference between a seasonal or permanent position
