After Bob Gibson 2nd year in the majors he pitched 5 straight years over 230 innings and had two straight seasons of over 300 innings pitched.
Again I think it had less to do with innings pitched and more to do with lack of pitches in the repertoire. These youngster come in with a fastball and curve or a fastball and slider. You can't get by very long with just throwing heat. Your fukking arm will fall off. Everybody raving overt Strauseberg becuz he throws heat but what about his slider or curve or sinker?
