This is incredibly sad, I hope they get the aid that they need. I don’t like seeing my people suffer in this manner.

Failure of the "so called" leadership of the country. They don't care about the Haitian people, and whether the people live or die.
from what I read the now decreased president was as trying to help the Haitian people....he was appoint as a puppet and ending up turning on said countries for his people.

Haitian pls quote me if im wrong

That's a plea his supporters copped after his death.
Before he ran for president, he knew what the power dynamics were in the country. Where the international pressure comes from, and where the domestic pressure comes from.

During his term, neither faction prevented him from pushing incremental changes to improve the country and conditions for the people. The people on the ground didn't feel or see this happening.

When he developed splits with those factions, he ran to the masses of people on some "bu bu bu but the oligarchs and Western powers prevented me from doing x,y,z". As if they blocked him from trying to make even minor improvements to the economy and infrastructure.

The true story probably wont come out for several years.

I remember when I was younger and Aristide got overthrown back in 2004 - everyone slandered him during that time, and then he became known as a loved leader among the people when he returned to the country years later, and then all the information came out about the governments and businessmen that orchestrated his overthrow back in 2004.

The real story about the assassination probably wont come out until 2040.

Its alot of corruption surrounding the investigation right now.

the most important information has come out. i forgot what position he holds but someone in this government did a press conference admitting the assassins were both trained on bases here in the US and also received funding. so whatever the assassinated president was or wasn't trying to do for the people, it's clear he was dealing with pressure from this country and didn't have a free hand.
