I remember when he used to hit WNYU like every week. He'd bring through his demo cuts and all that. DJ Scratch had pretty much produced all of them at the time. I used to tape them all, whatever they played. I liked his stuff from back then much better than his actual album.

I just dusted off some old tapes last week. There was night when The Roots hit WNYU and were playing live for like two hours. Black Thought, Malik, B, Sadat X, Natural Elements, Half-a-Mil, and mad other people were just freestyling over the beats The Roots played live. Such a classic night for radio!
