Handcuffed Man Kicks New York City Police Officer Onto Subway Tracks During Arrest

A man handcuffed, reportedly accused of jumping the turnstile on a New York City subway platform, kicked a New York City Police Department officer onto the subway tracks on April 16.

According to local reports, the incident occurred at the 125th Street station in New York on Thursday. The man can be seen in this video, taken by Joaquin Santiago, handcuffed on the ground and taunting the two officers.

The handcuffed man can be heard telling officers he can handle pain, for them to put their weight on his neck, and claims he would kick the officer “in the face”. He swings his legs and kicks the officer, launching her onto the subway tracks. The officer lands on the tracks, gets up, and climbs back onto the platform.

“The cop was spit on by the man before the video happened, and taken down. While he was down, he was struggling to get out. He then kicked the cop into the train tracks and remained on the floor. This man was not coherent and was raging out of control for no reason. Cops arrested him for something he did before he was put in handcuffs,” Santiago told Storyful.

The suspect in the video was identified in reports as 25-year-old Anquando Johnson, who was charged with felony assault on a police officer, plus reckless endangerment and theft of services. Credit: Joaquin Santiago via Storyful
