Hands down one of the best albums to come out summer 98. This was when Capone was still locked up. It was a moment in Hip Hop because when CNN first came out it was Capone who was the leader and Nore was the other guy....what made The War Report so special was how "the other guy" stepped to the plate and held the album down while the leader was locked up and he did it so well that the album became a classic. Then 'the other guy' drops his solo and its dope....it was 2 for 2 for the CNN camp. That was the album that made Nore a rap star. I still remember having the earphones on my ears and hearing Superthug for the first time and having my mind blown.

typical 1998 summer night clubbing:

  • get scooped up by the crew w/ "body in the trunk" playing
  • tryna find parking, disrespecting women walking to the club while the "hed" interlude plays
  • get inside the club with "superthug" blasting
  • fight breaks out
  • dj plays "I love my life" to calm things down
  • after a lull in the ignance, dj plays "banned from tv"
  • second round of ignance ensues
fukk sosa & McGuire, this is what made the summer of '98 magical.
oh, how I miss it. :datazz:
