MGS4 and MGR is all the proof you need to know that even Kojima knew he totally screwed up with Raiden in MGS2. Solid Snake is the GOAT and Kojima disrespected the hell out of him and when he had a chance to do something about it, he made him old, retired him, and had us playing Big Boss as if Solid Snake never existed.

Kinda crazy that Solidus is kinda like Killmonger. He has good intentions and he ended up being the reason snake was able to put an end to the patriots in MGS4.
