Although The Spinners was my favorite group coming up, these will be the last two songs I post from them on this thread, as far as sad songs you could still bust a move on the dance floor to. What's happy about this song is, it ain't me going through it..lol. I hope nobody else is either, for that matter.
For a lot of us, there was probably a time when our fathers counted us out as far as becoming anything, especially when we were young and messing up. Although my father once counted me out, he was very proud of how I came out. If anything, that motivated me, and he knew it...I think, lol.
As far as ending up alone, here's a quote that's so true, and it explains just how I feel: "I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone. It’s not. The worst thing in life is ending up with people who make you feel all alone”. This quote was originated by Robin Williams.
Anyway, this song hits a little on both topics. Whether you still think you could fast dance to this song or not, like I said, it will probably be the last one I post by The Spinners on this thread.
What's really happy about this song is, I made it even further than my father thought I would, even after I got on my feet. I even retired early like he did.
