IMO

1. 2pac - People have stolen his whole style, wildness, lines, attitude, clothing etc.

2. Biggie - The most quoted rapper of all time

3. Rakim - Re-invented rapping

4. NWA - Perfected gangsta rap.

5. Puff daddy - Ultimate rap mogul

6. Jay-z - A mixture of puff and biggie. Mogul and legendary mc

7. Dr. dre - It's dre mayne.

8. Wu-tang - They were new york/east coast to the bone.

9. LL Cool J - Dude was like the less hardcore version of pac. He could do the hard songs/soft songs, act and I think dude was one of the first rappers to show his body like that (no homo)

10. Dipset. Setting 2 major fashion trends when most rappers don't even have 1. They also were the first group to flaunt gang affiliations. (banging on wax don't count)

Chronologically

KRS - Self-explanatory
Rakim - Self-explanatory
NWA - Gangsta rap pioneer, socially conscious in a rambunctious, aggressive way
Wu-Tang - Set the East Coast revival of the mid-90s in motion
Nas - Changed the lyrical/technical rubric, is the threshold/aspiration for many after him
Big - A threshold of versatility
Pac - Pioneered that passionate thug lane, still bumped today
Jay - Picked up where Big left off, I feel his influence is more in the business sense of rap though
Kanye - Drake, Cole, Wale, Big Sean, Wiz to an extent, and others do not exist without Kanye. Period.
Jeezy - Trap music is not a mainstream presence until Jeezy

Honorable mention
Kool G. Rap - Machine gun flow, first niqqa on the coke rap wave
T-Pain - The format of sung-rap/Auto-Tuned rap is essentially birthed by him. Sounds odd but niqqas can't deny this since like '06.

Master P= Dude was the ultimate hustler and great businessman.

Jay-z= Ultimate trendsetter whatever Jay does the game follows.

2Pac= One of the first rappers to dominate rap and hollywood movies. Brought soo much to the game and accomplished alot in soo little time.

Scarface= Great storyteller mc he brought soo much to the game. Alot of dudes in the south owe him.

Too Short= OG simple lyrics but his influence is undeniable.

Nas= When we talk about the eastcoast MC is the definition of lyrics.. But also his catalog is one of the greatest in music. Poet etc

LL Cool J= One of the first commercial artist to breakthrough and have that crossover appeal, lyrics, and ladies jams. Dude is one of the most versatile mc ever

Outkast= ATL and the south really owe Outkast the most successful, creative groups ever. What I loved about Outkast they weren't trying to be like anyone but themselves.

UGK= When we talk about underground groups that been around since the late 80s doing it consistently.

RUN DMC= Although not my era no denying their impact, crossover ability. RUN DMC brought rap into homes that never heard of it.
