Black politicians always have to assuage any fears white voters might have and anyone who ignores this doesn't get elected.

This is pretty much science at this point. :wow:

The ONLY ones who win office are ones who adopt a color blind rhetoric

Now, you might disagree...but... then you won't get any black politicians...

Why is this a surprise? White folks still make up the majority. White folks are also the majority of donors.

Its a numbers and economics thing. Even in cities when you have majority black folks. They still have to move to center...cause their donors are overwhelmingly white or white corporates.

So thats why I say as black folks its about putting money into a candidate to get them to do what we want. We all know a politician will bend for that dollar even if its slightly. Thats also how other groups (even though their numbers are small) get politicians to push their agendas.

Even with money though, can black politicians garner the respect needed to get enough votes? All these politicians holla the same shyt policy wise for the most part, with some minor variances here and there. What is the true winning condition for a black politician? Or a politician in general. What does it take to win?

Even if we identify all win conditions and then help our chosen candidate hit all of those conditions. Is that really enough for a black man or woman? I know Obama happened, and happened very recently, but the way whites and other non blacks talk (regardless of where they stand partisanship wise) they give me the impression that he was a one time deal. A tryout. And that he failed and it won't /can't happen again in their lifetimes.

I don't even have a real point bruh... I just recognize you as a poster who has opinions and values I respect. So I'm trying to glean some more opinions out of you.

Just keeping it funky. :yeshrug:

Dont care about the race of the politician as long as they push policies that benefit me.

Brotha you make great points and I agree with what you said. Its still an uphill battle with black politicians.

Like you said Obama was a one time deal. It literally took bush fukking up the economy for them to elect a black person to the white house. Not only that but his background had to be spotless.

Plus to top it off there were white folks all throughout the midwest who still didn't want to vote for him. Folks forget how unions in the midwest had to literally sit down with their white members and say please vote for him so he can save our jobs.

Or the white folks who were losing their houses who only voted for him because he would talk to the banks so they could have a foreclosure grace period to help Americans out.

In the end its not an easy answer and I don't know the magic bullet to help out black politicians.

Now on a personal view I look at all politicians as folks you have to make do shyt. If you don't hold them accountable and stuff they pockets full of money they gonna fukk you all week and twice on sunday.

I knew you'd come through with some heat. But I been sipping the devils brew and don't want to make too much of a fool of myself on this day off. So ima get back to the seriousness of this topic tomorrow.

In the meantime I can ask/discuss some safe shyt. Such as where do you fall on the reparations discussions? Are you a hardliner when it comes to it or moreso realistic (what I deem realistic, since I don't see them coming in my lifetime). Do you feel we absolutely have to have a black candidate to get what we want and need as a people?

Just drop your opinions on me, you got a listener in me bruh.

They have/had a choice. :coffee: If you have to :stylin: to get in, you have to :stylin: to stay. It's a waste of time to even be there in the first place. All you're doing is deceiving the black masses with some :duck: symbolism. Dignity and Integrity > :stylin:

But what’s the excuse for black politicians being so timid from black districts?

Why is it difficult for Elijah Cummings (Baltimore) or Jim Clyburn ( South Carolina 6th district) to take on serious black issues with substance?

I don't think people understand how expensive it is to run for local office, let alone state or a general election.

You know who has most of the money.

This is why group economics is so important, but hey, keep crying when we are denied entry to bars or clubs, and begging other groups to take our money.

This is why I wish they added more members of congress.

The average district size that a member of the house of representatives is about 750,000 ...you're not getting 750,000 black voters to come out in all of these districts that elect black voters. Its OBVIOUS non-black voters help to elect these people.

If you want districts that represent people's interests more directly, for better or worse, you need smaller districts

In order to elect politicians, you need numbers and money.

Black people don't have the money (compared to other groups) and the number is dwindling (in proportion). :yeshrug:
