Hartford, CT: what is there for a black youth to do?

Looks like I'm gonna be there the week before school starts (family vacations ) and I'm tryna find all means to ditch the dukes and explore the city on my own.

What's there for a nikka to do? Food, shopping, sights

There's a few things to do mostly downtown area around the XL Center. The south end is mostly Spanish and the North end is mostly Jamaicans. There's plenty of places to eat. There's a few spots on Albany Ave and Buckland Hills mall isn't that far from there, it's in Manchester which is about 20 minutes north from there. Nightlife is good as well there's Club NV, The cloud, and a few other spots.

I live in CT. Only thing I can think about at the moment is the Casinos. Never been to Hartford and I never plan on going but Im pretty sure there night life is pretty what with the rise of electronic music. If you're into Dancehall there might be some clubs in Bridgeport or New Haven, maybe even Providence, but thats almost like an hour drive. If you're into that college crowd then New Haven.
