rand probably isnt a typical "long-shot" since he is polling well although i dont think he gets the nomination
either way, long shots usually hand out the biggest ether since they have nothing to lose. they just go for the jugular and sometimes are probably paid to do it and enter races by backers of a more formidable competitor
