Has anybody here ever lied on their resume and still got the job?

The last job I applied for I basically told some lies on my resume (overexaggerate my work experience and gave myself some bullshyt job titles that I wasn’t really that well equipped for) and still got the job. :yeshrug:

I was wondering how common is this and has anyone ever just outright lied on their resume and CV in order to get the job?

I have. I'm in IT, very technical. You have to be least able to explain basics concerning the software app or whatever you lied about. Just go on Youtube and get a quick tutorial.

Most of the time they aren't looking for Guru's, just want to know you're somewhat comfortable with job specifics.

Lie, but know enough about the topic to give an overview and/or fake but believable examples of your experience with said topic(s). Learn about said topics in the job.

If this is a more technical role, it may be a bit more involved depending on the interviewer and interview process, but by all means if you think you can do the job, lie, then learn on the job. 99% of these job descriptions are just Amazon wishlists anyway. This is done intentionally so they can fukk with you on compensation. People with the skill sets to cover 75% of some of those job descriptions don’t even bother applying because the compensation isn’t worth their time.

I genuinely don't know anyone that writes a 100% honest resume. Even resume writers recommend at least embellishing your skill set and daily activities to make them sound way more important/vast than they were.

But also be careful including shyt like video editing/photography/editing/etc if you can't do any of those, even if your job description doesn't involve it bc you never know when they'll notice that try to get you involved in more things than your job description

I’ve lied on pretty much every resume I’ve done or any application I filled out. It’s pretty standard imo, but when you get the interview you gotta know some basics.

I don’t care what I have to say or lie about to get a job honestly. I figure I’m not dumb and they are going to train me anyway, fukk it :yeshrug:

And if you call me for an interview while I’m at work I’m going to put on a show. My current job called me while I was working my former job. I was in the parking lot, on break, sitting in my car.

I answered the phone and realized it was a job calling. I got out the car. I cut her off half way and told her I needed a second. I started pretending I was telling people what to do. I’m just standing in a parking lot giving out orders and telling nobody I’m going to step away for a break.

My cousin did. He said he went to Columbia U when he went to a small state school. He also said he had years of experience in web design from some company. As soon as he did that, he got a job. I don’t think he’s gotten caught yet.
