Has anyone ever tried a Weight Vest before? Any good brands?

I was working with a trainer a few years back and dude had me rocking all that unnecessary shyt. Mfers in the gym was looking at me weird as shyt. I think he thought he was gonna lose me as a client, so he turned the training up. He still lost me as a client.

Vests definitely help, but there's other less clunky ways to get more resistance.

I personally don't like training with heavy weights or cumbersome gear on me. I think it makes you bulky and less agile/explosive.

There's different philosophies and ways to train and people would argue against what I'm saying...AND they would be right, but you gotta do what works for you. I like low weights and high reps; 15, 25, 50 reps on some sets depending on the exercise.

I'm still relatively jacked, faster than most people I know, jump higher than most people I know, and bench 315 all from still training with mostly light weights, and once every 8 or 10 sessions I throw heavier weight on.

I mean I'm not gonna knock anyone who's actually dedicated to gymlife....

but lowkey I do be laughing a LOT in my head at some of these clowns :russ:

I could never stand the duffle bag boys....IYKYK :mjlol:

the guys who every rep gotta get on their DMX shyt :lolbron:

but yea everyone in there for a different purpose....so I can't be that ignorant.....but still funny tho

Crossfit causes injuries because they value quantity of reps and speed over quality, isolation, control, safety and everything else.

In theory, sure. I know plenty of good better XF coaches and athletes that don't do that and are relatively injury-free, just like I know folks that went OD with the weighted training shyt on hard surfaces and jacked up their knees. :skip:

The exceptions aren't the rule. I know a few people that go to CrossFit gyms and they don't buy into their whole mantra and perform exercises with good form and don't partake in excess silly shyt for the sake of personal bests and records.

He should've lost you as a client if he had you "training" in clunky gear.

A weighted vest is no different than a dip chain or belt. Should you do all of your dips with a chain or belt? No. Will a couple of sets with a chain or belt assist you. Yes.

It's like when high altitude masks was the fad and everyone was walking around like some knock off mortal Kombat ninja

I knew cats running 10 miles with this shyt on talking bout "if i lived in Denver id be accustomed to the altitude" "Olympic athletes train with similar gear".

You can do fingertip pushups and knuckle pushups. Should every pushup be on your fingertips or knuckles? fukk no.

It's all good. I respect people actually getting out there.

But like everything else people look to a device or a pill or a powder or something for the answer or the magic key and they aren't going to find it.

I'm finding out mfs are wearing weighted vest as gym shirts like "I'm supposed to do my entire workout with 50 extra pounds?" :snoop:

It is what it is. People look for a reason not to do certain things.

We literally have a thread on every topic here. Jumping rope, running, calisthenics, boxing. Even without gadgets and devices people are like "i don't run as a workout, it's bad for your knees" "jumping rope is bad for your legs" "riding a bike is bad for your back" "breathing air is bad for your lungs" "too cold water is bad for circulation".

Like god damn :childplease:

I’m sure we’re saying the same thing, just differently. :obama:

Not everyone that does CF will lift with dogshyt form and snap their ish up just like everyone tryna be on their Piccolo demon time won’t escape their training without aggravating their knees. Any activity X can be bad for Y if done with Z conditions. :ehh:

Coli brehs (and folks in society in general) will always make excuses for exercise and fitness shyt they don’t wanna (or can’t) do. :francis:
