Has anyone here actually looked into opportunity zones?

Economic zones or whatever they're being called.

I mean I know they are used as vehicles for dodging taxes and/or accelerating gentrification. But has any AA entrepreneurs, here at least, actually looked through the plan and see if it's possible for them to take advantage of it?

I work for the largest financial services firm on the planet. We get fund managers in & out of our office weekly talking about new opportunity funds. The only problem is to really take advantage you have to use capital gains, most of our people unfortunately do not participate in the market like that so they have no clue rich people are bout to lift up their whole hood like they got oil under it smh

At the moment it stands to benefit impoverished black community very little because it relies on people with capital to use their tax break and incentives with a moral compass, it needs added language and protections for people affected by it the most. This is a conversation we should be having though. I believe there are people pushing to modify it for the betterment of the black community as we speak and it should be one of things on our political agenda
