I know they need time to re-tool, but damn, I haven't watched in a long time, and I really don't even hear anyone talking about Takeover Brooklyn this Sat. Last year many of us were super excited about that show.....moreso than Summerslam.

I just feel :ld: about NXT right now

Haven't watched it in a year, have they got more non-match segments other than contract signings now?

It's lacking luster because there are no real stories being told, mainly because everyone got called up in such rapid fashion.

Hideo's back, but has no storyline now because every single person he had any kind of kayfabe connection with is gone (Balor, The Ascension, Kevin Owens, even Enzo/Cass/Carmella who were in the video where he got attacked are gone.)

Bayley and Asuka are there, but there's no Nia Jax, Eva Marie, or Alexa Bliss, so who are they going to have a credible feud with. Bayley's probably on her way up to Smackdown sometime soon, so who's really next up? Liv Morgan, I suppose? :ld:

Corbin and Crews could've been developed more. Actually wanted to see Corbin build up to a run with the title. The greatest story they had down there was Sami's journey to the title, the Owens turn, and destruction of Zayn afterward.

After that, you got a lot of quiet killers getting called in and pushed along so fast that there hasn't been any real character development to make you care outside of "We get to see _____ against ______!" :gladbron:

Sounds to me like people stopped caring when NXT got a little more ethnic in the upper card

I guess they miss those Neville, Zayn, Owens, Breeze days a little too much :mjpls:

I'd say yes. Once they started pushing the "brand" and indie/international stars more than worrying about storylines and interesting shows. The house shows seem to have significantly more thought and effort put into them than the TV, which feels like it has a random generator to plug names into the same format every week. It's been "tune into Takeovers only" status for a looong time now, which usually deliver, but not always.

They've done a very, very poor job building up any new stars since....probably around this time last year. The guy at the top of the 3rd gen is No Way Jose.
