Has Social Media Raised Awareness, Or Has It Always Been This Bad?

This decade has been rampant with blatant, disgusting racism. Every other month you hear about some brother or sister, getting fukked up by cops or shot by a white person.

Im only 20, so I don't know if it's just that I wasn't paying attention in the 00's due to being a kid, but I can't remember it being this bad.

Do you think shyt has always been this fukked up, but the rise of social media has raised awareness due to how fast word travels?

Or am I right, as in, it's been getting worse this decade?

Nah definitely raised awareness of social issues. Back in the day people would interact with each other REAL LIFE daily. You had no choice. People hardly go outside like they used to. We had a choice to watch the news or go outside and have a good time and be distracted with more constructive things. Nowadays I can sit in my house all day and read the coli about white cops killing off young black men for no real reason and that could be the highlight of the day.
