Zero clicks. Cliff notes.
:unimpressed:
I used AI. So idk if this is accurate.

PS5 Price Increases and Market Impact

  • PS5 digital model has increased by ~$100 in regions like Europe, UK, and Australia.
  • U.S. saw a quieter price hike from $400 to $450 with the Slim model.
  • Price hikes mirror earlier trends, suggesting a pattern of rising costs.
  • Sony is raising prices in response to poor economic conditions to maintain profit margins.
  • High costs and economic strain are causing consumers to stick with older consoles like the PS4.
  • Gaming is shifting back toward being a luxury due to rising console and game prices.
  • Industry signs of strain include layoffs and declining physical game sales, with a shift toward free-to-play models.
  • Without better pricing and game quality, further studio closures and industry consolidation are likely.

PS+ Price Increases and Consumer Value

  • PS+ subscription prices have increased across all tiers (Essential, Extra, Premium).
  • The price hike, now including Australia, hints at a potential global trend.
  • Critics argue that PS+ offerings don't justify the increased cost.
  • PS+ Essential is inconvenient due to manual game claiming each month.
  • PS+ Extra has a decent library; Premium tier offers minimal additional value.
  • Sony is under fire for raising prices during tough economic times.
  • Some suggest Sony should return to COVID-era consumer-friendly practices with lower prices.

Concerns Over Indiana Jones Game Release

  • Physical disc version of the Indiana Jones game includes only 20GB, with the rest requiring a download.
  • This approach raises concerns for users with data caps or limited internet.
  • Microsoft is criticized for cost-cutting at the expense of the physical media experience.
  • The trend towards digital-only content threatens long-term game preservation.
  • Digital-only consoles may make physical games obsolete over time.
  • Consumers risk losing access to purchased games once current consoles are unusable.

I dropped PS+ in 2022 and have yet to re-sub. It cost more than I'm willing to pay and the price seems to be going higher.

Gaming is a luxury.

Sony could come out with a $1000 console and they could do no wrong. Honestly l, if they create a gofund me I'd put an allotment on my check do that I'd make sure they get paid first. NEGGED OP
