Hes been fine both coaches have been overly critcized but must be doign something right to get here..

NBA is a players league more then any other sport..coaching matters the least.. so i always laugh when i hear people obsess over coaching and blame games or seasons on them

He's out coaching Brooks but Brooks is next to Del Negro the worst in the league.

Spo can't draw up a lay for shyt but he is a very good defensive coach. I think he's done a good job with his schemes and I've had no real problem with his rotations outside I'd waiting so long to start Bosh. I still think Anthony could contribute in this series as well.

Spo has always been cool by me. The thing about him is sometimes in-game adjustments that he struggles with. How the series goes will say a lot about his growth.

Most Heat fans hatred for him started with the Beasley vs Haslem saga. IMO Spo was right with benching Beasley because the kid was scared half the time and didnt play hard.

These days it's mostly because of his substitution patterns and i think he's fine with those too because he likes to keep his best players fresh for the 4th Q stretches.

Spoestra's biggest flaw is his youth. he's not as good as Riley is at manipulating players into going through a wall for him.

This, its so frustrating watching this team after a timeout or tv break, they invariably have Bron or Wade dribble around for 18 seconds and then take some contested fadeaway.

I did like his adjustment for Game 2+3 with the Heat getting in the paint and attacking the offensive glass, great way to attack the Thunder small lineup.

I think Brooks has been ok, the Thunder adjusted well in the 2nd halves of Games 1 and 2. Still think he plays Fisher too much.

Honestly, I think his job is more ego and personality management now than X&O's anyway. That's what most of the great NBA coaches manage more than in game strategy and he's shown growth in that department since the start of the playoffs. Bron and Wade give less "what the fukk are you doing dude?" looks to him now. Plus you don't really need to run the Princeton offense when you have Bron, Wade and Bosh. I'd just tell them to slash and kick like they have been doing. Maybe run a pick and roll or two

Outside of drawing up plays, I don't think the team even plays FOR him. He's got a tough job though. And even though we don't hear ALL the pep talks and halftime speeches, from what I've heard he's not very moving at all. Very timid too, but not in a deliberate cerebral way. Like if Pop told Duncan he's embarrassing him (Pop) out there, Duncan would probably step it up on some "Nah I can't let Pop go out like that" shyt. Can't see that happening for Spo and his players.

I don't know where I saw this, but the Heat are actually some of the best in the league at scoring coming out of a timeout. I'll look it up and post it.

edit: now that I looked it up, Miami is middle of the pack offensively, but best defensively coming out of a timeout. If you combine the two stats, they're number 1. So disregard what I said in the first part.
