I wouldn't say Stitches and Slim Jesus are at the forefront of Hip Hop in any way. They are a laughing stock within the community and I don't think the average person on the street knows who stitches is

They're all novelties, and actually shows how racist alotta listeners are. Most of their buyers aren't even full time rap fans. This started with Eminem. Ask these casuals how many rap CDs they have lying around. They'll probably say 3 or 4, and they're all white except maybe that one Ye or Jay Z record they also own.
