Has the view of all-American middle-age white man w/ the "perfect" family diminished?

Now that over the past several years to decade these are the predominant faces ppl see on TV of corporate greed, corruption, etc that have cost them and millions others their jobs, lifestyles, etc. do you feel the view has changed?

The "hey this guy is just like me/he reminds me of me/hey this guys on my team etc" favoritism seems to have faded.
Of course this also works both ways, ie Obama and black folks.

Whereas all before, seeing a middle age white guy with the parted hairdo, "happy" family, etc., was the "reality" for many, now it's not b/c ppl see that ALL these guys regardless of race(white ppl just happen to be in charge) are not really in their corner.

Just throwing it out there.

hmmmm i grew up watchin alot of tv..and from what i saw..


daddy had a alcohol problem ,and was beatin/cheatin on momy..

momy was fukkin round with the pool boy,and the last kid wasn't daddy's..


daddy got laid off and went ham!


but then again..that was on TV...idk much about perfect ''white'' families lol

I really think the internet broke down that barrier. You used to go to certain neighborhoods to see certain things. Now every neighborhood is watching the same things.

It's like the internet destroyed that image they used as shelter for why they were better. A good example was teen pregnancy. You'd only see the poorest families suffer with this, and it was a shameful deed. Now it's become mainstream and they embrace it. They make tv shows about it and turn these girls into celebrities.

I think Krs-One said on some Vh1 documentary about how it was the parents trying to hold black people and minorities back but through the music and other media the minds of there children were infiltrated and they saw that other people weren't so bad. Look at all the white rnb, hiphop, and even soul music fans.

The playing field is slowly becoming even for everybody give it 2 or 3 more generations and .

Who said I believe it?

I'm just questioning it b/c I know it exists.
It's obvious it exists because racism still exists.

My point is that now it seems like MORE people are realizing that politics, america, etc is really all about money. And people use race and "relating to the avg. Joe" to further their agendas.

Like I said, I think it happens with every race, but white ppl just happen to be in charge and are the majority.

The breakdown of the family unit also caused this change due to rampant divorce rates and reality TV exposing dirt from these people.

Things have definitely changed in the American landscape. Where can you find an all-girl high school where they take the good, they take the bad, they taken them both, and there you have, the facts of life?

On TV at least, it seems like the "perfect, white family" is parodied or shown to be a farce. Every since American Beauty in 1999, it seems like there's been an effort to show a bit more of a realistic view of white middle class America in movies and especially on TV.
