Ignorance is bliss. The more educated you are, the more depressed you tend to get.
Knowing more doesn't mean things are that much worse.
We're in the longest period of sustained global peace the world has EVER seen, crime is down across the board in just about all corners of the globe, life expectancy is climbing at rates never seen before, we're healthier, etc.
Instant technology is also saving lives too. Its harder for governments to crack down knowing they're a camera phone video or picture away from having their operation blown.
Keep it in context man.
Just because theres World Star Hiphop doesn't mean that stuff never happened before. There have always been elements that you never heard of, but it doesn't mean they exist to a greater extent now.
