That's because hip hop isn't regional anymore. Back in the day every region had their own sound. You could hear a song & instantly tell where it came from. Now damn near everything has the same sound (at least mainstream-wise).

We are now, but ny nikkas been saying it's a weak era since the early 2000s while there were plenty of great lyricists and classics being dropped
