A lot of companies do not allow you to send emails with company information out via email. In fact some I have worked for don't allow USB drives or only limited Internet access. They monitor general in->out network traffic too.
You could disguise what you are sending by chopping / encrypting but that would raise questions.
You could hide it in a large number of https+calls to your own webserver with a nugget of encoded binary data in it but that would be a lot of work.
All you have to do is stick a USB drive in a computer and the security g00ns appear.
At one place I sent email from my work email address back to the same address, to save some code. A few days later IT (cazzack) security chief turned up in my office asking me stupid questions.
One company had terminals rather than computers at one of their offshore sites. Just a screen and keyboard to log onto a ring-fenced remote desktop.
