I think it depends on the industry. I'm a writer so most of my peers on Patron are posting exclusive stories that are only available to subscribers in exchange for their patronage so you aren't just asking for money for nothing. And as weird as it sounds, readers will absolutely pay for access to Q&A sessions and live streams and stuff. The different tiers get access to increasingly more content and exclusives. I personally don't have one but I know a lot of people who do.
