I know most of you will react poorly to this question since most people are followers, not leaders. But have you ever decided to not follow a fashion trend and wear whatever you wanted? While having people stare at you in the process? (in school and/or work)

Had the Kanye (when he first came out) look back in HS and cats would look at me weird. Now I just rock sweats, thermals and Frees w/ no fukks given. Too old to be trying to impress people by my clothes

Well I've always being into dressing nice, but not the latest trends. The closest I came to being considered "Anti Fashion" was the beginning of my 11th and 12th grade years of High School.

For the first 2 weeks of school, when everybody else came with their new school clothes and new tennis shoes and shyt. I wore a fresh white tee, jeans, and Nike Cortez every single day. But then after two weeks when they run out of new stuff and started wearing it for the second time. Thats when I would break all my new shyt when every else was looking :flabbynsick: I was :stylin: on them.. It was a pretty wavy movement and went on a couple of years after I left the school :obama:

Wearing a fashion trend does not make you a follower and not wearing what's in style doesn't make you a leader.

I'm an antisocial introvert with no friends so I was never much into trying to impress people. Back in college I used to wear my du-rag in an unusual way which garnered many stares.

no. but i prefer styles over fashion. styles are more personal. i remember one of my friends gave me one of her fashion magazines to read while i was chilling at her job (she was a bartender) and i read an article about some famous fashion guru that designed for some company for many years (can't remember his name now or who he worked for). i remember he said that style is a matter of confidence in whatever you wear while fashion is just a matter of what's popular and picking articles of clothing to wear. it's good to combine both but wearing a certain label or brand won't automatically give you style. there's a lot to style. i don't know but i felt like those words summed up what i was feeling for a while. having a style is more about how you approach dressing. it doesn't have to be abstract either, that's where people fukk up because they wanna be different and shyt. then their confidence comes off forced...

Well I didn't really roll with the skinny jean movement

I just like to wear jeans that fit.

Other than that I just wear what I like :manny:
