Have you ever been racially profiled?

If you have been racially profiled, then when was the last time you were profiled, either by law enforcement or by a private citizen?

For me, my last encounter being profiled, which was actually unbeknownst to me and brought to my attention, was on June 2nd.

I was at an Indian Casino(Fantasy Springs Casino) which is near Indio and Cochella Valley, CA.

I was on my way home walking towards the escalator toward the parking garage when a loved one mentioned that a non-Black person saw me and as I walked to my destination grabbed his wife. When this was brought to my attention, my response was:

"I could care less about that person or his wife! I did not even see him or his wife which illustrates how INSIGNIFICANT he must have been to me. Whatever hatred or bigtory he has in his heart is his problem, not my problem!"

After that, me and said loved one proceeded to go to my car and went on with our business.

My loved one had a similar incident at Victoria Gardens outdoor mall in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

We were walking toward JC Penny and I guess some Hispanic young women were sitting down as me and my loved one were approaching the entrance. One of those women grabbed her purse as my loved one passed by and my loved one saw her..

Offended, my loved one(so proud of her for having strong racial pride) said out loud, but not directly in front of the women:

"I don't know why she grabbing her purse, like someone really wanted such & such! I make (insert 6 figure number amount here)! I probably make more money that she ever saw in her life! She better worry about her own people stealing!"

Then we proceeded to tcb and go on with the rest of the day...

So, what has your experience been, past or present with being racially profiled?

Fear = acknowledgement of the unknown is stronger than your strength of self

I was asked if I had been drinking even though I didn't drink at the time. He then claimed he smelled marijuana although the car was new and I just tried marijuana for the first time in my life a month ago. He asked could he search the car, I let him...

They got the drug dogs out and the fukking gang unit. The dog didn't hit on anything and they were asking me about my glasses which were a fake pair of buffs. They told me my braids and fancy glasses were consistent with gang culture.

I was fully cooperative and this guy kept trying to goad me into a confrontation. Got done being grilled, got back in my new whip and noticed the lever to let my seat back was broken off.

Let it ride, got 5 minutes up the street and got pulled over again... I told him that another officer already searched my whip. He went back to his car for 15 minutes and then came back and sent me on my way.

Realized this small ass country town wasn't young black Male friendly and took my ass back home.

Yeah, I pretty much share the same sentiment as yourself. I am 6'2" send dark skinned, so I could only imagine how uncomfortable I make some to many people feel.

However,

I have learned some lessons in life and one of then is that I can't or rather shall I say will not allow other's prejudices, insecurities and preconceived notions to control my life!

I won't allow someone else's internal problems to be my problem!

I also learned that there will always be people who will not like me, no matter what I say, do, behave, accomplish etc. Those who choose to prejudge me end run with those preconceptions want it to be that way, so I will let them run with it.

But, the consequences they those people may or will face that they will have to answer to that choice and for their own sake better hope that they will not need me for shyt!

As far as I am concerned, if a person chooses to live with the bs, then they will die with it! I will treat said person(s) accordingly...

In all, I am going to continue to stay on my square & handle my candle til the casket drops! I got a lot to be thankful for despite dealing with the burden of living amongst less than desirable individuals with deep rooted internal issues..

I have been through some shyt, but that does sound funny to see the horror in someone's eyes and they have to deal with their own fears and prejudices. I am surprised you didn't yell "Boo!!!" when you spooked them at the elevator? LMAO!!

Yeah, I got a couple of police stories, but they were many years ago. I am just glad that you didn't get chipped over some bullshyt!
