Criminally underrated black film that deals with a lot of issues I never understood when I was younger.

As a child the movie scared me shytless but I watched it a lot of times and eventually it just became funny to me. As I got older I started noticing the actual messages and overall premise of the movie.

Like Tales from the Crypt, there's multiple stories. The stories are scarier than the "horror theme" in itself. They include police brutality/racism, child abuse/HOH, political racism/c00nery, black on black crime (which, imo, is the saddest and scariest story out of them all), etc.

The plot twist at the end had me :damn: for years.

If you can get past the shoddy CGI, which was actually good during its time of release, then you should note that it's a solid film. Other than that, you can just enjoy one of the best gangsta rap songs/theme songs of all time.

One of my cousins had the bootleg when that joint came out, the cover always scared the shyt out of me whenever I would see it.

Finally got the courage to watch it and started having nightmares :sadcam:

For some reason I made it a point to find it and look at the cover every time I went over there.

An indelible mark was made on my young psyche :francis:

If you think about it, it's crazy how this film even was made and released. :ohhh:

Black on black crime being addressed at a time where 90s gangsta rap was at its height? Racist politicians? Abuse?

It was a unique time for black folk getting their issues out in the open.
