Criminally underrated black film that deals with a lot of issues I never understood when I was younger.
As a child the movie scared me shytless but I watched it a lot of times and eventually it just became funny to me. As I got older I started noticing the actual messages and overall premise of the movie.
Like Tales from the Crypt, there's multiple stories. The stories are scarier than the "horror theme" in itself. They include police brutality/racism, child abuse/HOH, political racism/c00nery, black on black crime (which, imo, is the saddest and scariest story out of them all), etc.
The plot twist at the end had me
for years.
If you can get past the shoddy CGI, which was actually good during its time of release, then you should note that it's a solid film. Other than that, you can just enjoy one of the best gangsta rap songs/theme songs of all time.
