Opinion about the 'Rona on thecoli is divided but there is one thing that I think the various coli massives can all agree on.
The Internet has been the glue that has held whatever is left of society together

Imagine a world-wide lockdown pre-Internet
. Many more would be unable to work, unable to keep in contact with family and family, unable to get up to date news (esp non MSM news). #jbo-gang would be dying out here.
Given how slow the media was to start reporting on this, many would have heard about the virus much later and who knows what extra damage that could have caused.
The Internet has also facilitated (some) working form home, looking for work, entertainment, ordering food and other items from home, remote learning - private / state education / universities, re-skilling, coli babble, romance, other commerce ...
As bad as things are now it would be far worse if the Internet did not exist

I'm guessing that if the Internet wasn't here people would be a whole lot more worried about the future, people would be more amenable to manipulation and a lot more people would be agitating to leave the house.
