If Al Horford had a legit true point guard and could play power forward (two things he has never had in his career) his numbers would be closer to 20 and 10 instead of whatever they are now.

Mike Bibby was a true PG. He might have been :flabbynsick: but he was a PG.....and Al wasn't quite ready then.

And Teague is straight. He does his thing. His only problem is he isn't agressive enough at times because he's trying to run the offense.

Bibby was below average when he came to Atlanta and Horford had limited touches as well. Even with that said, Horford had some of the best efficiency numbers in the NBA with Bibby when he started coming into his own. Bibby isn't a playmaker either. Bibby in Atlanta was an elite BBIQ PG with severely limited athleticism who ran a solid PnR and was very good for that spot up 3 pointer.

Teague is a talented player. He is straight if you are talking just Basketball. If you need a PG, he is just average. He doesn't really do any that PG's do even a below average rate. He's a poor man's :youngsabo: Don't talk about assists because :russ: has 8.2 of them a game. Rose used to put up big assist numbers has well. Neither of those guys had court vision whatsoever.

Assists aren't everything, i've never used assists as an argument. The difference between Russ and Rose is Russ dominates the ball. Rose had to score for his team to win. They had to make him shoot more since he was by far the best player on the team. Russ isn't that. Teague is average....but so was Avery Johnson. The guy has improved greatly and is still learning. If we had a team capable of winning right now I say dump him....but we not close and we can grow as a team with him. He is tough and fearless, I like that about him.

Avery Johnson was a floor general who didn't have the 1/10 of the talent, size, length, and athletic ability that Teague has but he was a true PG. Saying Teague is average at PG isn't the same thing as Johnson. Rondo is an elite PG as is Russell Westbrook. But they aren't the same. Westbrook puts up major numbers and gives you elite production while Rondo gives you elite PG and floor general skills. Not the same thing breh.

Not to say I want Rondo because I don't like his PnR's nor do I like his ball dominating ways but his BBIQ is genius level and he is an extremely skilled player. I admire Rondo's game.

Teague has improved as a player, as a PG, he still sucks. He is still a SG in a PG's body. Hence the reason why we play the way that we do. We are just simply trying to win games and Drew is just trying to keep his job. It's just that simple. We aren't going no where with Teague unless we become some defensive juggernaut and in the process land someone like Melo.

For example

Teague
Paul George
Melo
Horford
Hibbert

Other than that, we aren't going no where with Teague.

Both Russ and Rose have to score for their team to win. The difference is Westbrook like Josh Smith has bad shot selection and low offensive BBIQ. Rose just has below average decision skills.

I'll give it to you simple.....Teague is good entertainment. That's all I can ask for from my Hawks after watching those bad years. I just want to be entertained when I go to the game. And the offense is run thru Josh and Al from either the high post or low post.....Teague just needs to knock down shots ala BJ Armstrong....along with dunking on nukkas!:mj:

I didn't want Teague tho. I wanted the guy who went one pick above him.

Teague is entertaining. He's like Bobby Jackson. He can be exciting. He has an all around game. Can shoot a lil, can attack the rim and dunk, extremely fast, can block shots, can pick pocket you. Teague is a fun player to watch and he doesn't do those frustrating things Josh does either.

Josh and Al do work off the high post a lot this year. That's true and it's more effective than Teague and Horford at this stage. Horf and Smith is our best passers with Josh being our best passer.

B.J. approach to Basketball is extremely similar to Jeff's but Teague is far more talented and B.J. was a far better floor general than Jeff. Both had confidence issues. Goodness, I wanted Lawson so damn bad man, :snoop: f*ck Minnesota.

The league should contract their asses and @tremonthustler1 can become a Hawks fan:skip:

I used to think he was gonna be elite. His jumper is definitely wet. He never took his post game to the next level. Although he has been playing out of position his whole career.

I gave up hope on this season for Horford when I seen Devin was like Hinrich. I was hoping we get All NBA defense Hinrich and he was :flabbynsick: Hinrich. I did the same for Devin Harris thinking back to his one good year in Jersey. :scusthov:

Some of these PG's get injuries and just fall off. Hinrich and Harris lost a big part of their athleticism and man :sadbron:

I wanted Mayo and he was :blessed: but not for us. I should just go with my first instinct but sometimes you want to have hope in your team. I wanted to have hope in the Hawks. I knew that Harris trade was bad for us but it was bad for Utah too. So I am not sure we lost. Devin is decent at SG but ole boy is stop gap. The minute Smoove is traded, our small backcourt will be great exposed and it will be back to Stevenson starting again.

It sucks but Al's a system player. We don't have the personnel for that system. It sucks but it is what it is. We can't say Drew doesn't want to run it because he used it last year to below average results at best. Thank goodness for Joe and our top tier D last year.

Yeah, Only thing we can do is give Ferry a couple of seasons to see what he can put together. I hope he can pull off something because I dont think I can suffer again like i did from '99 to '07.

Breh, if he can make us a contender I would be happy. While catching Miami will be tough we can at least be contenders. We are borderline right now. We are good but we are mediocre. It's like we got some of the pieces but not all of it.
