I believe in the Hawks
Only real issue that comes with teams that do it by committee is it's very hard to assemble a roster of 1-10 guys who are all mentally disciplined enough to stay unfazed and remain 'thinking' when facing playoff level defense and intensity. People mention the spurs but not really b/c when shyt gets tight even they'll throw all that out the window and go straight to duncan post ups or tony parker.. or manu with some of that head-scratching hero ball shot attempts.
Atlanta seems to have that perfect assembly of disciplined, balanced, high iq players though. And until the playoffs actually start, there's always going to be questions about how that 4th qtr execution will look like come playoff time (in which the intensity will be higher and everyone and everything is scouted to a t) but right now you can't deny their formidability.
I felt that Chicago was a lock for the ECFs but between washington having their number and what Atlanta has shown, I'm actually becoming more curious about chicago's bigs than i am about whether derrick rose can stay healthy. I don't know about the 1st round but from the 2nd round and on the East playoffs may be every bit as exciting as the West's.
