$70 for a two port? :dahell:

I've been using a five port splitter for all of my systems for the past 3 months from Amazon with no problems

Before that one I've been using a 3 port spliter for 2 years... I believe I paid 8 bucks for it.... :heh: at Best Buy

Before I got my Onkyo receiver, I was using the PORTTA PET0301S 3x1 Port HDMI Switch/Switcher. Worked really well, and it's only $9 on Amazon.

Edit - I don't know why Amazon links never work when you link them :francis:

OP I use this http://www.amazon.com/Kinivo-301BN-Premium-wireless-adapter/dp/B0049S6ZUS/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1444715414&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=kinivo+hdmi+switch&psc=1

It's a 3 in 1 HDMI splitter. Comes with a remote (never used it). It seems to work well now, but when I first got it something from the port or the Hdmi cable would cause my tv screen to go black when I was using it. I use it for my Wii U and Ps3. Not sure why that was happening, but it doesn't happen anymore. Honestly, I think I just have a crappy hdmi cable (I bought it from Five Below :francis:). Apparently Kinivo has a lifetime warranty and they encourage people to send malfunctioning units back for immediate replacement. I've been meaning to do this, but I'm mad lazy and the splitter isn't malfunctioning like it was.

But can you vary the input via switch? Or is it all the same for whatever is connected? So many questions...
Yes. You can click the switch on there to switch between ports. It also automatically detects when you're using a certain system. For instance, I have my Wii U and Ps3 plugged into the kinivo, and the kinivo is plugged into one of my hdmi ports on my TV. So when I'm playing my ps4 or have it on, I can switch on my ps3 and the kinivo automatically knows which system I'm using between the ps3 and wii U. Sometimes though my ps3 will boot itself up for some weird reason and it will switch to my ps3 in the middle of playing my Wii U

Breh a quality splitter won't degrade the picture quality one bit. It's a digital signal, if the splitter can transmit all the data, there will be no loss of quality. If the splitter is wack, the quality will probably be so bad you wouldn't even use it.

That's why there's no difference between a $5 HDMI cable and a $100 HDMI cable.

I heard there is lag with the splitters but if there's not that's good to know.

You're 100% correct no difference between $5 and 100 hdmi cable.
