There’s a great doc on ESPN+ about Tony Mandarich that really does his story justice. I tried to find it online, but didn’t see it anywhere. If you have ESPN+ it’s worth checking out though. His life was crazy during his NFL career.

He was so hooked on pain pills he would hide them in his jock strap and pop them during practices, and when his addiction got really bad he started shooting up during practice. If I remember correctly he said there was never a practice or game where he wasn’t high during his time in Green Bay. Some of the stuff he was doing during that time was just wild. He was basically Bubbles from The Wire playing in the NFL.
