Had a physical interview in a prestigious Chicago Hospital yesterday, with the executive director and his manager. Position is in finance and analysis. Anyways, talking talking budget, the head guy stopped the interview and was showing me figures and shyt that they use on the daily. Great interview and of course, I send the email of courtesy for the email. Both people replied too. I'm not putting too much into it but nice nonetheless.

Good vibes, second interview with the same peeps on Thursday. As an encore, I need to fix up some data and do a presentation on the data for them. I'm about to stunt hard on this shyt.

Tough for me to answer clearly since I have not worked in Healthcare (did it on the HR temp and IT side).

My best guess is to go to a staffing agency and take temp work to get your foot in the door. Or, search a position that best matches your skills and experience and see what might be missing (besides years experience) and see if it's a certificate worth your time and money.

What position EXACTLY are you seeking?

2 years accounting
1 year sales
2 years Marketing

I'm looking for something above patient access but not necessarily management. I would like to be in marketing or accounting.( Community outreach, PR, analytics)

How nice are you with spreadsheets and such? If you were interesting in management, an MBA would be a quicker route, so keep that in mind. I'd be looking at like financial analyst positions within the field. Where are you located?

Nc , but the thing is if I'm going to go into healthcare I would much rather get a MHA over a MBA. How realistic is it to enter the industry not at the bottom without a master's or bachelor in healthcare administration?

Edit- I'm comfortable with Excel but am always looking to gain exp

I have an MBA with a concentration in healthcare management. Why? It's still an MBA at the end of the day. It's very realistic, but that's why I say go towards being a financial analyst. As I'm sure you've seen to this point, there is a true value in being able to communicate financial matters to someone that does not have a background in finance. Your accounting experience will be crucial in that regard. Healthcare has a huge chasm with people that are either clinical or business and even then, some people in business can't break down finances like that. I don't really foresee a lot of struggle in you getting something going in this field. One question though, why this field?

I'm still awaiting the word but I did exactly what I set out to do for this presentation. Commanded the room and walked people through things so that they could understand.
