Tired of everyone calling it a fruit

Figs are technically not fruit, they're actually inverted flowers. They require a specific kind of pollination that can only come from fig wasps wasps that have to DIE INSIDE the fruit in order for the fruit to mature, since figs cannot be pollinated by wind or normal bees.

And no ripe figs are not full of dead wasps and the "crunchy bits" in the fruit are only seeds. The fig actually produces an enzyme called ficain (also known as ficin) which digests the dead wasp and the fig absorbs the nutrients to create the ripe fruits and seeds.

Figs are white people food. fukk figs
Whoa. Listen here fig trees are prominent in religion and revered by some African peoples the same ones who carried the traditions from Israel back to the South into Africa and spread across the continent. They are a key and a clue to a past often denied and not understood. We brought them into the interior of Africa from Israel.

Murder hornets are also killing wasps and depositing the body’s inside the fig trees. :francis:
