I just bought a Samsung 4k TV and the shyt looks crispy already, but I don't have anything that produces a 4k picture quality to my knowledge. The most likely thing is my PS4, or one of the apps on the TV (its a smart TV), I just cant figure out how to raise anything from the 1080P to 4K. I am very tech savy so I probably don't need anything in detail, just a simple explanation.

I have even tried the youtube app but it wont produce 4K for any of the videos on there (even the 4K test videos). Im actually not sure cause when I press the "info" button on the TV it always says 1080P quality. and im not sure if the app is actually maxing out the videos cause they really don't even look 1080P.

Im connected thru HDMI on every device, but still cant notice 4K through any of them. My laptop is only 4GB RAM so it kind of struggles with streaming or playing downloaded 4K videos.

Help a nikka out breh's

I figured that. Will nikkas be able to get 4K thru HDMI? I ask that cause there is 2 spots for some new type of connection to the TV I have never seen before. I wonder if full 4K quality will have to be received through this new connection.
I believe it needs HDMI 2.0. At least Netflix does.

:mjlol:

The PS4 dosent anything in 4K yet
Your best bet is Netflix or Amazon. They have 4K shows.

Or else download 4K movies :manny:
I think my laptop can handle downloaded 4K movies and shyt but idk what to look for in the title to know its 4K (i get all my shyt through torrents, 4K movies would be bout 25-30GB right?). You know how shyt either says either 1080p, 720p, BluRay Rip, BluRay, ect. What does it say for 4K?

does your tv have youtube? youtube has a few 4k videos
Yeah but the quality never jumps to 4K, damn near barely jumps to 1080P. I think my tv is too far from the router. However, the Netflix app always jumps straight to 1080P so its confusing me.

Are there any settings I need to change on the youtube app to make sure all videos max out the quality?

Lmao.... The ps4 doesn't have 4k output yet. Plus the Netflix is 4k but your TV might not pick it up if I'm not mistaken. Youtube has a few 4k stuff, but I imagine you might have to connect with your WiFi chip in that TV.

If the tv has netflix and youtube on it use those because your laptop won't be able to transport the resolution through it's hdmi output. Amazon also has some 4k stuff. Netflix has very few things in 4k, House Of Cards is one they do have. I think they have or are getting breaking bad in 4k. Keep in mind netflix, amazon video and youtube are not real 4k just like they aren't real 1080p. To get real 4k you'll need to wait for 4k blurays and buy a 4k bluray player with hdmi 2.0. To be honest, the only real use for 4k right now is PC gaming and that requires a $2500 PC. You're gonna have to wait a while :yeshrug:

This is a 4k youtube video

Does your TV even support 4k streaming? it may not....You should of got the samsung 4K media player....To my knowledge all content is upscaled to 4K regardless of the source.

FYI you don't need hdmi 2.0 to play 4K but you do need it to play 4K @ 60FPS

When I went to buy my tv best buy included a 4K digital player with the Samsung curve joint.

I went with a Sony TV instead.
