help a young brit on madden

mainly defense. i dont know any defenders except richard sherman and revis. i have no idea what formation or plays im supposed to be choosing. i just use the ask madden plays on defense. i dont know when im supposed to be blitzing or zone or man to man. im a liability for my team. i have to control the big guys at the line because if i control anybody else i will concede a touchdown. who do i control?

all this and my record is 10-11. ive won 10 games

ps i keep trying to use adrian peterson but whenever i pick the vikings hes not even on the team did he change teams?

Here's the simple defensive approach. Just look at how many WRs the offense has on the field:

1 WR - Use 4-3, 3-4 or 46 Bear (good to use 46 Bear if you know the offense is going to rush)
2 WRs - Use 4-3 or 3-4
3 WRs - Use Nickel
4 WRs - Use Dime
5 WRs - Use Quarter/Dime

When on the goal line, use the goal line defense. If you're playing with a team that has a crap defense, it might be better to play zone so you don't get beat deep. If you have a guy like Sherman or Revis, might be better to have those guys play man to man. You should play the tutorials to get a better understanding between the different zone defenses (Cover 2, Cover 3, Cover 4, Cover 6, etc.).

Pretty much what bruh said. Madden this year's tutorial is really helpful cause they actually break down what each scheme is supposed to do.

Hmm. After I did those. I started a offline franchise and built myself a custom playbook to use. I used the franchise mode as a way to just practice my playcalling for different situations. I would say if a spot opens up in our Madden League on here, you should try to get in. A lot of the brehs in there have no problem helpin' people out.

I'd hit up @Don Dada F Poppa @Ineedmoney504 @L@CaT and others that are in the league, they'd have no problem playin' games and giving you tips.

Blitzing depends on the situation and your own style of play. I personally don't blitz that often because I'm pretty good with switching to a player in the secondary and picking off a pass. I've noticed a lot of people online tend to strictly pass the ball & abandon the run (which is beyond stupid), so I sort of try to confuse them with that strategy. When I notice that they figure out what I'm doing, that's when I start bringing pressure with the blitz and mixing it up. If you're playing someone who clearly struggles with the pass rush and panics, you should blitz. Are you getting beat with these little dink & dump type plays over the middle? Zone. Play the tutorial in the game and it'll walk through this in pretty great detail. They did a really good job with the tutorial this year.

As for who you should control, again that's up to you. I like to control the DT or DE on the defensive line & pursue the QB or run play. I think that tends to be the safest way to play because you won't screw up your secondary or LB playing zone or man on the RB. If you notice the zone isn't helping and your opponent is spamming a pass down the middle - play as the MLB and pick off those passes. If your opponent is spamming a HB screen, play a cover 3 zone and shut it down.

They put in this quick action game to jump and shed blocks this year, so again it might be best for you to play the tutorial to get familiar with it.
